Hot hot heat

I don't like the heat, and neither does my computer. It's crashing and locking up with alarming frequency. This is limiting my ability to post, comment, surf, chat, or do most things online.

It's only supposed to get worse. So if i don't post for a few days, it may be because my computer is not working well enough to post. Or that I've melted into a puddle of protoplasm.

you think it's hot THERE ... Hah!

Seems to me there is an app somewhere that runs a diagnostic on the fans inside your computer to make sure it's cooling properly.

Getting the fan fixed, if needed, is a whole lot less costly and troublesome than replacing the whole shebang...

Hunt around on PCWorld.com for it... or Google for it...

Meanwhile, keep coooool!

I like it hot. And my machine is in the cool basement.

Gort, I may follow suit. It would be a delightfully anachronistic scene, sonce I don't plan on refinishing the basement beyond rewiring it and securing the windows.

Mr. H.K., I have no idea why that never occurred to me before! It's possible I've had an underperforming fan somewhere since day 1. I'll poke around for programs and see if there's anything I can download that won't crash my computer while I'm doing it! I'm really due for a new PC anyway...

Rima, wherever you are, it's bound to be HOT! But, seriously, try not to spontaneously combust. Your triple digits are no fun. (How hot is it in Las Vegas right now, I wonder?)
