George the Idiot Monkey

I've been kicking around this idea for a few weeks, ever since I referred to the current President and Vice President as a "retarded monkey and his cyborg pal" during a discussion at work. Here are some character sketches that grew out of this.

George the Idiot Monkey, a well-meaning but woefully dim character who acts according to his own narrow, simplistic, and generally wrong worldview, and CyberCheney - more machine than man, lacking a heart, granted super powers by external forces to whom he is eternally beholden.

It took about 30 seconds to make these sketches and about 30 minutes to scan them into my computer. The characters were done without reference to models, so they may be grossly inaccurate - I just found a picture of Cheney that shows him with light-rimmed glasses and no hair on top. The important thing on him is the sneer, which I believe is actually an unfortunate physiological condition that afflicts the V.P. The critical thing on George the Idiot Monkey is the close-set eyes which are really present in the actual person.

It's not nice. It's not kind. But you know what? These are bad people. They never should have been elected in 2004, and they never should have been appointed in 2000. They are hurting our country in ways that it will take decades to recover from - assuming they don't break things beyond repair. They deserve this, and much more. But barring a miracle, we are stuck with them for the next three years three months and 20 days. We have to deal with it in any way we can.

We'll make it to another President with $5/gal gas, inflation, and a depleted future. But, most importantly, we'll make it to another President and another day. Plus you'll be able to say, "I told ya' so."
