Everything went OK at my polling place. I stopped by after work and was about fifth or sixth in line to use one of the four machines. The woman a few ahead of me was taken aback a bit when they announced she was number 666, but we all had a chuckle over that.
While I was waiting, I heard there had been an incident at another polling place locally: a gas leak. Had to evacuate everyone. Not sure what happens there - provisional voting at another location?
I cast my ballot and managed to not knock the machine over. I was so proud of myself.
I'm very disturbed by the stuff I hear coming out of Virginia, especially at George Mason University where a hacker has revived the "elections are November 5" misinformation and at Virginia Tech where the polling place has been suddenly moved to a location six miles away with one parking place for every 1,000 students. Florida is also completely screwed up again. With both Virginia and Florida key states in determining several paths to victory for each candidate, these are extremely serious issues. Why hasn't this process been made bulletproof in the last eight years?
So now we wait, and watch the results trickle in. As for me, I might just start uploading and editing my photos from this weekend's Sideshow Gathering.

RE: 'November 5th' disinformation...
With all due respect: Anyone clueless enough to believe that should not be voting.
...tom...
.
I would agree...except this election involves lots of first-time voters who may not understand that Election Day is always on a Tuesday.
It also involves lots of longtime voters who couldn't explain WHY Election Day is always on a Tuesday.
