Lilac II, blueberries, and almost azalea

My second lilac bloomed yesterday. Like the first, which bloomed Friday, I bought this as a Mother's Day gift for my mom years ago. This one is darker, much more blue and less pink than the one that bloomed Friday.

The color of a lilac blossom is dark and dull before it opens, and grows brighter just before it opens. Like a dandelion, each lilac spray is made of numerous smaller flowers.

I was surprised this morning to see some of the clusters of blueberry flowers already opening. Here they are a few hours later.

This red azalea is not quite open yet, but is definitely about to open. Maybe tomorrow...
