I've never cared much for the Grateful Dead. At all. But I do like a few of their songs. From the first time I heard it, I liked "Box of Rain":
Its relevance is explained here:
Such a long, long time to be gone
and a short time to be there
Harold, sorry to hear about your father's death. My mom died as a result of a fall down a set of stairs at my sister's house.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you about the Grateful Dead. They were a band that if you really were cool, you had to love them and had to follow them around to all their concerts. I guess I just didn't get it. I liked them better when Bruce Hornsby played with them for a couple of years, but only a little bit better. Full disclosure - I bought a Grateful Dead t-shirt through the mail once that had a print of the kid smashing an ice cream cone onto his head from one of their album covers. It didn't help me pick up any chicks, though I had hoped it would when I bought it.
