Why hasn't this guy been impeached yet? I think I know the answer, and I think it has to do with gutless Democrats in Congress who are unwilling to do anything that might potentially jeopardize their victory in November, in both the Legislative and Executive branch elections.

Congress rolls over and gives Bush what he wants in new FISA legislation
I would love to see both the House and the Senate get loaded with real, honest-to-God Independents who have no real expectation of landing a candidate in the White House, and who are therefore able to act free of that consideration. But it won't happen. Best case, we will see the Repugs get kicked to the curb for a while - and hope the Dems don't screw things up too much before the next election.
Oh I'm stealing this like a presidential election.
ReplyDeleteDB,
ReplyDeleteI'm still of the belief that we need something like a truth committee on the run up to the Iraq war, the outing of Plame, and the use of torture.
Reading these recent articles on the use of torture makes it appear that much of the push came right from Bush himself.
I think, more important than criminal proceedings, we need to discuss the way this stuff came down. Perhaps the American public is comfortable with it, but I suspect many would be reasonably appalled.
The debt, the Iraq war, New Orleans, crumbling infrastructure, unfinished business in Afghanistan, and economic chaos are this administrations gift to us.
Anyway, let the countdown begin.
Kucinsh did turn in 24 Articles of Impeachment against Bush (and some for Cheney as well) last week. Funny how the mainstream media didn't mention it.
