On the plus side, Blogshares now has a message that says "Spiders revitalized" - maybe these are Blogshares spiders, not Google spiders, I don't know.
We'll see if this posting causes me to show up in Blogger's "Recently Updated Blogs". I didn't see Another Monkey listed there last night after I posted.
I wonder what the heck is going on?
I don't have a theory, but I never get 25/day so I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteI would guess that
1) getting your site listed on as many other people's pages improves traffic.
2) probably repeated blogging on the same topic causes search engines to rate your page higher on that specific topic.
3) you could post a lot of comments on other pages with a link back to your page.
4) you could register your blog with as many search engines as possible.
That doesn't explain a drop off, but the new blogger entry makes me less likely to randomly pick sites --- which is how I got hooked into Industrialblog and your page.
I joined a local county site that posts my titles with a link everytime I update my blog. That has netted me some new readers. I don't get that many readers, but I'm surprised that about 30-40% are actually coming through google searchs.
