Alternate lyrics to "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana

Everybody knows the song "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, even if they don't know it by name. It's that dramatic choral piece that is used to make good movies, bad movies, and everything in between seem a lot cooler - in the trailers, at least.

Sure, you've heard it. But you probably have no idea what the lyrics are. Here is a helpful phonetic version, so even if you don't know the words you can still sing along!

(Attention readers on Facebook: there's a YouTube video right above these words. If you can't see it, click through to my original post.)

Enjoy. And remember - be good for Peace Monkey's sake!

I totally stole this from Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy.

This was hilarious. Thanks for explaining where this music comes from. My pompus a-hole of a co-worker has this music for his cell phone ring. He fancies himself a warrior type. Not this particular song....but the one that goes ...."sodomy! and bigamy!" (see,we made up our own words to it too) It drives me up the wall...and do I have to say he gets A LOT of phone calls. grrr.

FABULOUS! My chorus sang Carmina Burana last spring - guaranteed to blow your vocal chords, every performance. I will share this with my fellow singers, they'll adore it.
