Happy Halloween!

Hello. This is a pre-programmed post to inform you that d.b. echo is currently unable to post due to his being across town passing out candy to assorted children, teenagers, and adults. He will return with the 2008 tally sometime this weekend. (2007 tally: 178 served.)

There were no trick-or-treaters at my new place. I so need to know how to do preprogrammed post. Then maybe I could post more than twice a month.

Awww, that's terrible, Ashley! I know how much you enjoy this holiday. And I was bummed because I only got 137 kids this year, 41 less than last.

Pre-programmed posts are easy: When you first write the post, go into "Post Options" and change the Date and Time to whenever you would like it to post. When you hit Publish, you will get a message saying your post has been scheduled.

Doing this used to creata a post-dated post that will stay at the top of your blog until the date has passed, which is useful in some situations. You can still do this by writing the post and publishing it as usual, then re-opening it in edit mode and changing the date and time. Your post will continue to display, even though the date and time haven't arrived yet. (This can be a pain if you're trying to do a pre-programmed post and accidentally post it prematurely - you have to copy and past your stuff into a new post with the later date and delete the original one to get it to go away!)

I miss you!

I don't know whether it was the rain, the dark night, the local crime wave, or the economy (or all of the above), but we had 4 (count them) groups of trick-or-treaters. A thin turnout even for us. Glad to hear you had more.
