Post-Apocalyptic Family Circus

Hanging out at the Comics Curmudgeon certainly gives you a new perspective on the funny pages. Some comics just beg to be parodied. This is the first thing that came to mind when I saw the 8/3/08 Family Circus:



But on further consideration, the looks of concern on the faces of the children in the original strip suggested they weren't just hoping that someday they could break down by a shopping mall.


And that farmhouse in the background? Was that element added to ease the sense of menace that comes with a family stranded in the middle of nowhere? Apparently Bil Keane never saw The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
