It was a Tuesday

It's been six years since the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. September 11, 2001 was a Tuesday, and the mechanism of Leap Year has brought the date back to a Tuesday again this year.

My current work schedule leaves me drained of energy and short on time at the end of the day. Today is the third day of my four-day shift, so I really can't write anything that does justice to this day, or all the people who died on it, or all the things that have happened as a result of it. Maybe later.

For now, you can use this link to see all of my posts in the category "9/11".

Stay safe. Enjoy your life. Every day of it.

Harold, Father Mike gave a sermon this week and said that the first person who died in the 911 attacks was a Franciscan (spelled right?)
Monk. I have never heard that, have you? He said he is considered casualty 0001.

It's amazing how everyone knows where they were, what they were doing and what was going on around them on the day of 9/11. We'll never get it out of our heads.

At least you put up a post on the 11th. I didn't; and I don't even have the excuse that I'm working. On thinking it over, though, I don't think I want to dignify that event with blog posts, even to memorialize the dead. I don't want to give Al Quaeda the pleasure (assuming they read my blog) of knowing that I care what they did, or worry about what they might do next.

And yes, ~deb, I know where I was and what I was doing; just as I can still see a young woman with dark hair, putting down a cafeteria tray next to mine, and hear her saying, "They just shot the President."
