Conjunction of the Moon and Venus, 11/05/2005

This photo was taken at 5:29 PM on Saturday, November 5th from the St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township, PA. I left the shutter open for a while to gather sufficient light to make an image, so the sky looks much brighter than it actually was.

There was a hard-to-see conjunction of the Moon and Mercury on Thursday, November 3rd, although I just learned that it would have been much easier to see for folks in the Southern hemisphere. Sorry I didn't mention it, guys. If you live in the Southern hemisphere you should have favorable viewing of Mercury right after sunset for the next few nights. Check a source like Heavens Above for more information specific to your location!
